Nicole M. Richard
Nicole M. Richard is a Senior Associate in Tafapolsky Smith Mehlman’s San Diego office. Nicole has 13 years’ experience working in the business immigration field and has practiced immigration law for top law firms in San Diego and San Francisco.
She has represented Fortune 500 companies, small and medium-sized companies, as well as families and individuals. Her experience spans all types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications with a special focus on unique and complex visa types, including E-1/E-2 treaty traders/investors, O-1 for individuals of extraordinary ability, L-1 intracompany transferees, multinational managers, EB-1 extraordinary ability and outstanding researcher petitions, as well as I-751, citizenship, and nonimmigrant visa waivers. Nicole is committed to pro bono work and has served as a Volunteer Attorney for Casa Cornelia Law Center in San Diego, CA from 2009-2017 and for the North County Immigration and Citizenship Center in Vista, CA from 2016-2017, and as a volunteer for the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer’s Program, Annual Women’s Resource Fair from 2013-2014. Nicole has been awarded the Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services in 2015 and 2017 by the California State Bar and recognized as a Southern California Rising Star in 2016 and 2018 by Super Lawyers. She was also a Top Attorney Semi Finalist in the Immigration Law category in 2015.
Nicole received her JD from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego and is admitted to the California State Bar. When not in the office, Nicole enjoys trips with family, visiting her daughter at SFSU, art, wine tasting, and live music.
