Teodora D. Purcell

Teodora devises strategies for bringing and retaining foreign talent to the U.S. and advises on immigration compliance, labor certification, and immigration consequences of corporate restructuring. Teodora handles complex immigration appeals and is well versed in inadmissibility and waiver matters.  She also represents individuals in various consular, family immigration and citizenship matters.  

Teodora is a recipient of many professional accolades, including being named to the Super Lawyers List in Immigration Law in 2017 and 2016; the AILA San Diego Chapter Pro Bono Award in 2016; KPBS Local Hero Award in 2016, the San Diego Daily Transcript’s Top Attorney List in Immigration Law in 2015 and 2014 as well as the Casa Cornelia Distinguished Lawyer of the Year “La Mancha” 2015 Award. She has served on several committees for the Lawyers Club San Diego, American Corporate Council San Diego, and is a former Executive Committee member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) San Diego Chapter. Teodora currently serves as an elected Board of Directors member of the San Diego County Bar Association and is a faculty member for the UCSD ABA approved paralegal program where she teaches Immigration Law and is a frequently invited speaker on US and global immigration topics. 

Teodora obtained her LLM from the University of San Diego School of Law and her JD and LLM degrees from the Sofia University in Bulgaria where she is also licensed to practice law. In her free time, Teodora enjoys traveling, photography, chocolate or wine tasting (passion learnt with her twin sister), hiking, biking, Zumba, yoga, spending quality time with her family and cheering at her two daughters’ basketball games.
